We use 100% of all the donations we receive to directly help individuals, families and young people from refugee backgrounds who are experiencing crisis in their lives.
We have two funds: the Hannah Kinross Fund and the Settlement Support Fund.
Your generosity means we can continue to help people in severe financial crisis to buy food and essential items. You can also help children and youth to join local sporting clubs to promote a healthy lifestyle and meet and socialize with other children and young people in the wider community.
The Hannah Kinross Fund
Sadly, in August 2009 Hannah Kinross, a MIC staff member was tragically killed in the Kokoda plane crash. Hannah worked tirelessly at the MIC to promote healthy lifestyles particularly for youth and children.
In Hannah’s memory the MIC established a fund that is used to assist young refugees to play sport and join other healthy clubs such as dance clubs. If you would like to donate to the Hannah Kinross Fund and continue her legacy please donate here.
Settlement Support Fund
The Settlement Support Fund provides direct assistance to refugees in the Region and in particular recently arrived refugee families. Support from the fund helps individuals and families in the form of food vouchers and assistance to meet unexpected costs.
If you would like to donate to the fund to help refugee families experiencing severe hardship please donate here. All donations of $2.00 or more are tax deductible.
Our staff volunteer their time to hold fundraising activities annually to raise money so these funds can continue to assist our clients.
If you would like more information about a fundraising event please contact us.
Thank you to our donors
The MIC would like to thank people and agencies that donate to our clients.
