MIC will be holding a Driving Education Program for the Hakha Chin community in November & December 2021. The program includes 6 online driving education sessions which will cover the Victorian driving rules. A member from the Victorian Police will hold an additional information session about their role in maintaining safety on the road. MIC will provide participants who attend all 6 sessions with a $200 subsidy towards driving lessons to help them become safe drivers. A Learner permit is not required for the 6 information sessions but is required to receive the subsidised lessons.
Participants must meet the criteria, which includes:
- Members of the Hakha Chin community who have a permanent visa and has been living in Australia less than 5 years.
- Over the age of 21 years.
- Currently residing in the Eastern Region of Melbourne.
