Members of the Zomi community come together every Wednesday night from 5.00pm to 7.00pm to socialise and sew. This program is designed to help women to learn sewing skills to make their own clothes as well as clothes for their family members. The activity also reduces their social isolation and improves their health and wellbeing by enabling participants to form friendships and become active in the community. During the program, the trainer will teach participants how to make clothes including measurements, designing, cutting and sewing. The program will run onsite but can also be run online if there are COVID-19 restrictions in place. For more information, please contact Sawm at MIC on (03) 9285 4888.
