Employment

Under the Settlement Grants Program the Migrant Information Centre provides assistance to eligible clients with employment. This includes assistance with resume and cover letter writing, job searches, online job applications, job interview and communication skills, learning about the workforce in Australia and linking to skills and job centres. From the 1st of July 2022 to the 30th of June 2023, 37 clients were supported through this program. 58% of clients surveyed reported an increase in their understanding of how to gain employment after receiving support from their caseworker. All clients are offered the opportunity to provide feedback on the employment services they received from MIC. Below are the results of this survey, specifically undertaken with clients who received assistance with employment.

Under the Settlement Grants Program the Migrant Information Centre provides assistance to eligible clients with employment. This includes assistance with resume and cover letter writing, job searches, online job applications, job interview and communication skills, learning about the workforce in Australia and linking to skills and job centres. From the 1st of July 2020 to the 30th of June 2021, 176 clients were supported through this program. All clients are offered the opportunity to provide feedback on the employment services they received from MIC. 96% of clients assisted indicated they found MIC’s employment support helpful and workers easy to understand with 84% stating the assistance helped them develop their skills to achieve their goals. 68% of clients stated they met their goal after accessing MIC support with 60% indicating that they learnt how to solve problems on their own. Below are the results of this survey, specifically undertaken with clients who received assistance with employment.

 

 

 

Under the Settlement Grants Program the Migrant Information Centre provides assistance to eligible clients with employment. From the 1st of July 2020 to the 31st of December 2020, 31 clients were supported through this program. Half of the clients were able to meet their employment goal which included finding a job, getting their qualification recognised or enrolling in a new course. All clients are offered the opportunity to provide feedback on the employment services they received from MIC.
