As we approach the end of another transformative year, we want to personally thank you for your generosity and support. At MIC we built a thriving community of support around 600 refugee families — creating connections that strengthen our entire Eastern Melbourne region. For over 26 years, our Centre has been a beacon of hope for communities from across the globe, helping families rebuild their lives and thrive in Australia. Today, we walk alongside families from Myanmar, China, Iran, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and many other communities as they navigate their interrupted lives and complex journey of settlement, ensuring their children have every opportunity to flourish in their new home.

Every week, our bicultural team creates moments that remind us why this work matters.
Recently, a staff member supported a family from Myanmar as their four children prepared for their first day at an Australian school. The family had arrived with almost nothing—just hope and determination. When we provided uniforms, shoes, and backpacks, the youngest daughter, six years old, held her new bag and whispered, “Now I can be like the other kids.” That simple moment of dignity is what your donation makes possible.
Each child we support becomes part of our community’s future—our next teachers, health workers, entrepreneurs, and leaders. Your investment helps build the inclusive, vibrant community we all want to call home.
With only weeks left in 2025, this is our final chance to ensure 600 families begin 2026 with hope, not hardship.
