Important Update: Closure of MIC Migration Program
The Migrant Information Centre (Eastern Melbourne) advises that its Migration Program will cease operating following a review of the program’s financial viability and recent changes to the Settlement Engagement and Transition Support (SETS) Program Guidelines.
From 1 July 2026, MIC will no longer accept new migration clients or referrals for free or fee-paying migration advice and casework.
Current migration clients will continue to be supported during a transition period to ensure their matters are appropriately managed or referred before the program formally closes at the end of September 2026.
MIC’s settlement services will continue to operate and will provide settlement-related support where this is permitted under the SETS Program and does not constitute migration advice or migration agent services.
MIC acknowledges and sincerely thanks the Migration Program staff for their professionalism, dedication and significant contribution to migrant and refugee communities over many years.
