Employment

Employment support

Finding a job is an integral part of settlement. It enables newly arrived refugees and migrants to support themselves and their family, contribute their skills to the Australian economy, build their self-esteem, increase their English language skills and meet other Australian people from backgrounds other than their own.

Our professional staff support newly arrived individuals to find employment through casework and group programs.

For individuals, we assist them through identifying their skills and work experience from overseas and developing a career pathway for them to obtain employment in their chosen field. We provide advice on the level of English language proficiency, education courses and training they will require. We also assist them to write resumes and apply for work.

Our group programs include programs that assist people to understand Australian work culture and identify industries that employ greater numbers of people.
