Asylum Seekers and Temporary Protection Visa and Safe Haven Enterprise Visa Holders

The Migrant Information Centre (Eastern Melbourne) (MIC) can provide some support to asylum seekers, Temporary Protection Visa (TPV) or Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (SHEV) holders.

Clients must be living in the Eastern Metropolitan Region – local government areas of Boroondara, Knox, Manningham, Maroondah, Monash, Whitehorse and Yarra Ranges.

Support includes group programs, information and guidance and/or Critical Support.

  • Group programs may include social outings, family days, excursions, swimming programs or information sessions about living in Australia.
  • Information and guidance is provided about visa entitlements and local services that individuals may be eligible for such as:  health services, English classes, employment support, Torture and Trauma counselling, legal services, Status Resolution Support Services (SRSS) and others.
  • Critical Support is the provision of one-off financial support for those experiencing financial hardship.
