Housing

Under the Settlement Grants Program the Migrant Information Centre provides assistance to eligible clients to secure appropriate and affordable housing accommodation. Through support provided from during the 1st July 2022 to 30th of June 2023, a total of 110 clients were assisted with housing related issues over 307 sessions. During this time the MIC housing service was able to secure private rental for 23 families. The program was significantly impacted by the rising cost of living and private rental crisis, hindering the availability of affordable housing options.

All clients are offered the opportunity to provide feedback on the housing services they received from MIC. In addition to this, the MIC conducts a telephone survey of a number of clients who have accessed Settlement Services in the past six months. Below are the results of this survey, specifically undertaken with clients who received assistance with housing.
